About Me

I’m an RN with 40 years of experience. I’m a Mom and Nan Nan to 2 beautiful grand-babies. I have 3 cats and a passion for growing orchids and African Violets.

When I was young, I married my high school sweetheart. We moved to the country and built our dream home. We had 2 beautiful girls, and on his Daddy’s birthday, my son Stephen was born.

Life felt perfect.

But in the winter of 2005 the worst tragedy imaginable happened when my son fell through the ice and died.

Everything changed.

Part of me died with him that day.

My marriage ended.

We lost our home.

I felt like I had lost my mind.

My coping techniques were less than ideal.

I hit rock bottom.

I found after I finished with numbing myself,  my grief was still there and as strong as ever.

After a lot of pain and suffering I managed to land with my feet on the ground.

My road of recovering from his loss felt like climbing Mt. Everest.  It took everything I had to show up for my life.

Yet - I've learned how to continue to grow and expand into love and compassion.

After Stephen’s death.  I changed my area of nursing to Long Term Care. I had worked in many different areas of nursing from hospital to home health care.

I decided to take courses that would help me better understand the unique needs of long term and palliative care patients and that was different.

When I became certified as an End Of Life Doula in 2019 - I found my Soul’s work.

I had provided end of life care in all of the settings that I had worked in during my career and having experienced such a traumatic loss of my own,  I was determined to learn as much as I could about patients on this journey as well as how to support their families.

I have vast knowledge and experience caring for dying patients and can assist with the social, emotional and psychosocial needs of the patient and their family. I became certified as an end of life educator and can help people understand well in advance how to plan for end of life.

Death is one thing we know is certain.

I share my story with you so that you know that I am human.

I also have real experience with love, loss and grief and all the complexities of navigating such difficult times.

I also believe that the end of life journey can be a beautiful one.

I am here to serve and support the process of death and dying with same dignity and integrity as life is lived!

I would be honored to support you.  Let’s set up a time to talk.  You can book a free consultation with me to discuss your legacy, your dreams and desires, and the ways you can be supported through this journey.

I would love to chance to connect with you personally, book an appointment on my calendar and we can get to know each other.
